An Overview of the Major League Baseball

Central - Chicago White Sox, Cleveland Indians, Detroit Tigers, Kansas City Royals and Minnesota Twins.

West - Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, Oakland Athletics, Seattle Mariners and Texas Rangers.

Schedule

Each team’s regular season consists of 162 games, a duration established in 1961 in the American League and 1962 in the National League. The season normally lasts from the beginning of April to the end of September, followed by the post-season tournament in October.

  • American League Championship Series and National League Championship Series-a best-of-seven game series played between the surviving teams from the ALDS and NLDS.
  • World Series-a best-of-seven game series played between the champions of each league.
