- Previous names of the race include Winston 500, EA Sports 500 and UAW-Ford 500.

The 2007 race was the fourth race of the 2007 Chase and was held on October 7, 2007. Jeff Gordon earned his 80th career victory with the 2007 UAW-Ford 500. This would be the last race to be raced under the UAW-Ford 500 banner. Starting in 2008, the race would be known as the AMP Energy 500.
