The Bombardier Learjet 500 (or Bombardier Learjet 550) is an IndyCar Series race held at Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth, Texas. The race is held on a Saturday night in early June. From 1997-2005, it served as the first race after the Indianapolis 500. When it debuted in 1997, it was the first IndyCar race in the state of Texas since 1979.
The Bombardier Learjet 500 was raced for the very first time on June 7, 1997 as the True Value 500. Arie Luyendyk won the inaugural event. At first, Billy Boat took checkered flag as the winner due to scoring error. Luyendyk was declared the official winner the following day.

An overview of the 2007 Bombardier Learjet 500
Held on June 9 at the Texas Motor Speedway, the 2007 Bombardier Learjet 500 was attended by 86,000 fans. Sam Hornish had built up a huge lead by lap 196 when A. J. Foyt IV lost his right rear wheel, causing Sarah Fisher. After the re-start, Andretti Green teammates attempted to mount an attack on Hornish but he was able to hold them off to collect his first win of the season.
