2008 College World Series – The Grand Event of College Baseball

College sports are not amateur playing anymore. At par with pro events, these events draw huge crowds, prize purses are heavy and their culmination events are as much anticipated as the Super Bowl. It is almost time for the 2008 College World Series and fans are all set to cheer their favorites on!

The College World Series (CWS) is a baseball tournament which determines the NCAA Division I college baseball champion. It takes place in June of each year. CWS is the culmination event of the college baseball season.

Since 1950, the CWS has been held at Rosenblatt Stadium; earlier tournaments were held at Hyames Field in Michigan and Wichita, Kansas. The name College World Series is derived from that of the Pro Baseball World Series championship.

The present format of the series was adopted in 1999, after numerous changes since the game began.
