2008 National Finals Rodeo to be played Between December 4 and December 13
Ten days of fun and excitement are set apart in December each year for the National Finals Rodeo. Rodeo fans from all over the world wait eagerly for this one-of-a-kind spectacle and with each passing year, the popularity of the NFR is growing by leaps and bounds.
The National Finals Rodeo, organized by the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association, is a premier championship rodeo event. Wrangler Jeans is the title sponsor for the 10-day event, commonly just called the National Finals or NFR, which is also sometimes referred to as the World Series of Rodeo and the Super Bowl of Rodeo. The NFR is held each year in the first full week of December, at the Thomas & Mack Center, Las Vegas, Nevada.
Cowboy Christmas, a cowboy gift show, is held concurrent with the rodeo at the Las Vegas Convention Center. Since the rodeo uses ’special dirt’, the dirt is stored on the UNLV campus for use in next NFR.
