It’s Time for Another Widespread Panic Tour!
May 9, 2008 – 2:46 amWidespread Panic have been the most touring bands of all times. Living up to this image of theirs and to make fans dance to their tunes once again, Widespread Panic are touring the nation complete with their ever popular music, melodies and much more. An amazingly talented southern jam band from Athens, Georgia, Widespread Panic never fail to woo fans and sell-out their shows.
The current lineup of the band includes guitarist/ singer John Bell, bassist Dave Schools, drummer Todd Nance, percussionist Sunny Ortiz, keyboardist JoJo Hermann and guitarist Jimmy Herring. The band has played as many as 250 shows a year and have ranked among the top 50 grossing touring acts for eight years running, doing so without substantial radio airplay, television exposure or promotion.
Widespread Panic holds sellout records at - Red Rocks Amphitheatre (23 shows), Oak Mountain Amphitheatre (17 shows), Philips Arena (17 straight sold-out shows) and UNO Lakefront Arena (18 shows).
No two shows are similar!
Known for never playing the same show twice, Widespread Panic has a show-to-show ritual of choosing the night’s set-list. At the beginning of each tour Garrie Vereen, a member of the band’s road crew, makes a master list of all the songs the band performs and laminates it. Each night before the show, he marks the last 3 nights’ set lists in different colors. The band can see what has been played recently and then decide what songs to play during the first set. They return back to the list during set-break to pick songs for the second set, and likewise, return after the second set for any additional sets if playing more than two.
