Chesney was born in Knoxville, TN, in 1968 and raised in the nearby small town of Luttrell, better known as the home of Chet Atkins. He grew up listening to both country and rock & roll, but didn’t get serious about music until college. After graduation in 1991, he moved to Nashville and became the resident performer at the Turf, a rougher honky tonk in the city’s historic district.
Zoom ahead to today, April 2009, he is heading one this years biggest shows, his “Sun City Carnival Tour” which is hitting arenas, amphitheaters and some baseball stadiums throughout the country and Kenny has been selling out the better seats for all shows the day they go on sale.
Taking a hint from Jimmy Buffet who knows how to give his fans what they want. Kenny gives them plenty of fun in the sun with great caribiean flavored country/rock music, great music, beer (show sponsor is Corona), and lots of party time.
This is the magic brew that Kenny Chesney uses to make sure his fans get what they want and that he will be around for many, many years to come. It has worked well for Jimmy Buffet and seems to doing well for Kenny as well.
