Cotton Bowl - Get tickets

The Cotton Bowl (get Cotton Bowl tickets) is a college football bowl game played annually since 1937 at the Cotton Bowl stadium in Dallas, Texas. On February 27, 2007, it was announced that the game will move to the new Dallas Cowboys Stadium in Arlington in 2010. With the planned move, Cotton Bowl (get Cotton Bowl tickets) officials also began a campaign to become part of the Bowl Championship Series when the current contract featuring the Rose, Sugar, Fiesta and Orange bowls expires in 2010.

Officially known as the AT&T Cotton Bowl, the game stages a contest between the Big 12 Conference #2 and the Southeast Conference.

History of the Cotton Bowl

The Cotton Bowl (get Cotton Bowl tickets) is one of the oldest bowl games, having begun in January of 1937. The first two teams to play were the Texas Christian University Horned Frogs and the Marquette Golden Avalanche. These two teams featured two of the best quarterbacks in the game and the pairing got the attention of many fans. Sammy Baugh for TCU led the team to a 16-6 in front of 17,000 people.

By 1939 (2nd Cotton Bowl), the attendance had soared to 40,000 and since then, the game's popularity has been rising at a really fast pace. The Cotton Bowl (get Cotton Bowl tickets) had a long tradition of featuring the SWC champion, but when the conference folded in 1996, the format changed, and the game now pits a team from the Big 12 versus a representative from the SEC.
