Fiesta Bowl Tickets

The Fiesta Bowl (get Fiesta Bowl tickets), sponsored by Tostitos tortilla chips and officially known as the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl, is a NCAA football game played annually since 1971. Originally, the game was hosted in Tempe, Arizona at Sun Devil Stadium where it remained until 2006. University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Arizona is the current venue. In 1998 the Fiesta Bowl became part of the Bowl Championship Series.

Since the Fiesta Bowl’s first game, it has generated an economic impact of more than $2 billion to the state's economy and paid more than $370 million to universities and colleges.

History of the Fiesta Bowl

It all started in 1968 when former Arizona State University President G. Homer Durham spoke to an athletic awards banquet and proposed that Phoenix should have a football bowl game. Countless efforts on the part of Arizona's football enthusiasts culminated into the first Fiesta Bowl (get Fiesta Bowl tickets) which was played on December 27, 1971.

The inaugural game featured Arizona State squad against the Florida State. By 1975, the game was able to attract Big Eight co-champion Nebraska to play undefeated Arizona State in a match-up of top-five teams.

Since then, the Fiesta Bowl's popularity has been growing with leaps and bounds. It is become one of the most popular and admired college football bowl games.
