Monster Trucks - See Tickets

Monster Truck TicketsA monster truck is exactly what its name suggests it would be. It is a monster of a truck, a truck modified with hugely out of proportion wheels and suspension. These monster trucks act analogously to typical monsters; they wow people by smashing and squishing smaller cars beneath them. They exhibit power which is desirable by all, thus leading to their widespread popularity.

The birth of a monster

Monster trucks started 'appearing' sometime around the 1970s. Media attention made them popular outside of their birthplaces, which were their garages. Truck pulling and mud bogging were sports which required a lot of muscle power and high suspension. Drivers began modifying their pickup trucks by attaching powerful suspension rods and 45 inch diameter wheels. Perhaps, the most famous monster trucks are the 'Awesome Kong' and 'Big Foot'. They are credited as some of the earliest monster trucks and are also among the first ones to crash smaller cars in front of a live audience.

Monster Trucks - What has become of it?

Today, monster trucks come fitted with tires having as large as 66 inch diameters. In 1985 many channels and organizations started giving official support to monster truck events. USHRA (United States Hot Rod Association) and TNT Motorsports were the pioneers in this direction.

Since then the USHRA has been regularly organizing events. However, monster truck events often come under scrutiny for dangerous stunts and promoting unsafe driving. This has led to some of the erstwhile events being shelved. Monster trucks have influenced many people across the world. They are seen as symbols of raw power and brute force.

The current highlight show for monster trucks is the Monster Jam (get Monster Truck Jam tickets now!) series. Other series include Monster Nationals (get tickets to Monster Truck Nationals now!), Monsters of destruction, etc. Monster trucks are not only popular in the United States but events are also held in places like Toronto, Antwerp, Zurich and London.
