Synopsis of Mary Poppins
At the onset of the show, the Banks are introduced - George and Winifred Banks, their two children Jane and Michael, their cook, Mrs Brill and their odd-job man, Robertson Ay. Things are not going good for the Banks as the children are completely out of control and the parents do not have time for them. Mary Poppins, a nanny having every confidence in her own qualifications and merits, takes charge of the house. Within days, things start to transform and the Banks are happier than ever before. Things fall apart when George is suspended without pay and Mary Poppins leaves, annoyed by Jane and Michael's tantrums.
Things start to look bright as the second Act begins. The family members begins to understand each other and are no longer afraid to live their dreams and face their weaknesses. George gets his job back, Winifred is a better mother and wife and Jane and Michael learn to be obedient and unselfish.
Mary realizes that with the family reunited and happy, her task is done. With regret she says goodbye and sets off. Jane and Michael accept that Mary has left again, knowing that they no longer need her. The two children watch as their parents waltz happily together and Mary flies high above the audience, disappearing in a flash.
